about Editing Press

We are a small company of published academics from Oxford and Cambridge Universities who provide editing, proofreading, and translation services of the highest standard to postgraduates and fellow academics. Our clients vary from professors with major book projects to master's and doctoral students who are looking for bespoke editing services for their dissertations and theses.

We have more than 15 years of experience as editors and proofreaders and have worked with a wide variety of projects. As academics, we specialize in editing and proofreading books by established academics as well as master's and doctoral theses. General Proofreading

General Proofreading corrects grammar, punctuation, formatting, verb tenses, phrasing, sentence construction, and word choice. Sentences that appear awkward will be edited and parts of the text where the meaning is too vague to be edited or rewritten will be highlighted. House style and other formatting issues will also be corrected, as we are familiar with all the major style guides, including APA, Chicago, McGill, AMA, OSCOLA, CSE, and MLA. All changes are tracked and subsequent rounds of revision come at no extra cost. Learn more about our General Proofreading work here.

Thorough Editing

Thorough Editing involves two rounds of work: (1) a rigorous review of the work's logic, organization, and whether the research supports the argumentation; and (2) a more fine-grained reading to check for the mechanical elements of language covered under General Proofreading. The text’s flow, style, and syntax may be improved, and we are also able to check references and draft indices for larger work. All changes are tracked and subsequent rounds of revision come at no extra cost. Learn more about our Thorough Editing stream here.

Corporate Editing

Corporate editing is a core business for us. We assist small and large firms convert their ideas into cogent, readable copy that can serve commercial purposes. Learn more about our two streams of corporate editorial work here.
